POSITION SUMMARY:

The Epoxy business is a key business within the global Performance Materials Division and requires a Sr Research Technician for Civil Engineering applicatio. The position involves technology development programs from concept initiation through commercialization, working closely with team membe from our Applicatio Development, Product R&D. The candidate will be required to function effectively on cross-functional project teams. The ability to document observatio and findings as well troubleshoot lab operatio is essential.

This position involves up to 5% travel to global locatio in order to lead and support programs.

Existing project areas where the candidate can expect to be involved include:

? Conducting application test for ambient cure via a variety of methods to validate curing speed, coating performance on surface appearance

? Design experiments and prepare samples to evaluate thermal resistance and mechanical performance

? Analysis of raw materials and products via a variety of wet methods and chromatography to qualify new supplie, determine product composition, monitor reaction progress and troubleshoot operatio issues.

Key skill areas required in this position are civil engineering or coating lab application fundamentals, software skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, process hazard analysis and lab equipment configuration. General knowledge or familiarity with epoxy chemistry, thermal mechanical analysis techniques are a plus.

Qualificatio:

- A track record of safety in the laboratory

- A minimum of three yea’ experience in lab for flooring or coating industry

- Degree in Chemistry or Chemical engineering

- Experience with batch processing and separatio

- Good verbal and written communicatio skills

- Ability to effectively contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams
