Respoibilities
ESI is recruiting for an applicatio engineer with experience in the area of lase, laser material processing, or optical systems, for our Interconnect and Micromachining Division. Duties include
· Utilize skills and experience in laser micromachining of materials to demotrate laser machining applicatio with ESI’s cutting edge systems in house or at customer sites.
· Write application reports and communicate with division for project updates and outlook.
· Interface with the applicatio team and deliver results that drive customer satisfaction and success.
· Adjust system and applicatio to eure process quality and yield.
· Coordinate with the division’s engineering team to formulate system definitio coistent with processing needs.
· Optimize and setup application recipes according to customer’s requests. Identify and differentiate system issues from process issues.
· Coordinate application support for new system itallation and product ramp in customer sites.
Requirements:
· B.S. or Maste degree in materials science, chemistry, electrical engineering or physics with experience in the laser processing of materials.
· At least 5 yea of application / technical support experiences. Demotrated capability of interfacing and working with custome is a plus.
· Ability to complete complex tasks on schedule with minimal supervision while delivering quality output is a must.
· Ability to function well in a fast-paced, technically challenging, multi-disciplinary environment is a must.
· Must possess a strong see of urgency and time management.
· Experience working with diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) lase, fiber lase, and mode-locked laser technology is preferred.
· Experience with beam delivery and stage motion solutio as applied to laser processing and the integration of these components into systems is a bonus.
· Strong problem solving skills and ability to drive issues to closure is needed.
· An undetanding of optical systems and design is a plus.
· Flexibility on domestic business travel is a must.
Solid laser knowledge is must and PCB industry experience is a plus
