Mission: This is a critical position within the Manufacturing Operatio Team respoible for supporting the manufacture of innovative, low cost, laser-based micro-machining systems for the microtechnology industry. The Snr Manufacturing Engineer will be respoible for implementing improved production methods, increasing efficiency, reducing waste, improving quality and enhancing safety as well as developing assembly methods, work flows, factory layouts and work station desig in support of new production introductio.

You should be a Quality minded individual with expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and be able to apply them to improve the manufacturing processes. You will be expected to have exceptional skills in leadehip, teamwork, communication, and project management, and be able to provide training as needed to company peonnel and communicate Lean group’s philosophy, vision and expectatio.

Major tasks:

? Develops and maintai flexible, cost efficient manufacturing processes and product structures coistent with low-cost China Manufacturing standards.

? Pla equipment layouts, material and product workflows and labor requirements for efficient and safe utilization of manufacturing areas.

? Supports product assembly areas by identifying process inefficiencies and develops solutio for improvement.

? Uses Lean Manufacturing principles to develop and qualify new manufacturing processes and improve existing ones.

? Develops tools, jigs, fixtures and product tooling to support method improvements and new product introduction.

? Analyzes and recommends equipment for the manufacture of products. Provides for long term equipment plan and performs ROI analysis of capital equipment projects.

? Italls, validates, characterizes and provides training for new equipment and manufacturing processes.

? Develops detailed work itructio to support equipment operation and assembly processes.

? Manages projects and conducts project reviews as needed to eure successful and timely implementation and completion.

? Determines root cause and corrective actio to resolve issues involving noncompliant product or material. Assists othe in root cause and failure analysis.

? Provides sustaining engineering and change management support for released products and processes.

? Works with cross-functional groups including engineering, production & operatio functio on driving key initiatives and manufacturing process improvements.

Position requirements

? Bachelor Degree in Engineering – Preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical

? 5-7 yea work experience in industrial equipment manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in photonics and optics highly desired.

? Expertise with ERP BOM creation, change management and document control processes highly desired.

? Good written and spoken English skills.
