Job Description:
? Supervise Lead Enginee, Product Enginee and Designe, to eure their work meets all internal/external project / program requirements.
? Organize cross functional design reviews (BOM, 2D drawing & 3D, DFMEA) in collaboration with project/program leader.
? Support business award and BCM building, by providing technically relevant solutio and inputs
? Contribute to effective manufacturing performance and customer service
? Oveee, recommend and implement Engineering Gateway Review’s (EGR) in line with project milestone and completion targets.
? Capture and document lesso learned for the purpose of future knowledge sharing and avoidance design error states / mistakes.s
? Create and oveee all D&D budgets. Control team headcount and cost.
? Eures that the product desig proposed by the design team are feasible and economical to produce in the nominated manufacturing facilities and processes available.Maintain and track project issues via central tracking list to eure appropriate closure activity is in place.
? Eure effective people resource management and optimisation with the assigned design / engineering team
? Undetand customer business requirements and eure needs are met or exceeded by the group.
? Maintain proactive communication with key OEM customer team membe, act as main contact peon to custome regarding to engineering activity and issues.
? Keep their team informed about all relevant information; respoible for managing all Human Resources of their team including their professional development and annual performance reviews and participation in recruitment.
? Eure flexibility and adaptability to individual employee styles, strong communication of direction, progress, initiatives and potential issues within and between engineering teams
? Use an effective performance management and tracking system performance pla and development pla in place for all employees.
? Provide coaching to high potential employees within the group to eure they have the capabilities to be coidered for accelerated respoibility growth.
? Mentor team membe to increase engineer department design capability
? Eure effective management of controllable and/or discretionary expees.
? Support the accurate preparation and monitoring of annual financial objectives & budgets (18 month rolling basis)
? Other duties and special projects assigned by director
Qualificatio:
? Minimum Bachelor in Mechanical/Design Engineering or relevant discipline
? Desirable: Master in Engineering/Industrial Design
? Experience
? 10+ yea’ experience in seating within the automotive industry
? Proven experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing management position
? Cut and sew, seat structures and interio experience is beneficial but not essential
? Experience in people management and mentoring of team membe
? Exteive experience and working knowledge of managing an Engineering function
? Proven experience in effectively managing senior and technical staff in a similar role
? Proven customer service and financial/commercial orientation
? Skills & Knowledge
? Intermediate computer skills, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and Outlook
? Technical and or Manufacturing background
? Appreciation of CAD (CATIA, Uni-graphics, Ideas) and a PDM system
? Sound undetanding of automotive lean manufacturing systems and principles
? Strong Communication skills
? Proven ability to analyse problems and demotrate autonomy
? Proven ability to take initiative to develop and implement strategic solutio
? Sound knowledge of Safety & Quality systems
? Skills & knowledge in problem solving including engineering from 1st principals
? Knowledge of costed BOM creation
? Basic project management skills - time/quality/cost tradeoffs and their prioritisation
? Effective written and verbal communication skills
? Proven skills in both a team environment and working autonomously
