The Microsoft Technical Systems Engineer is respoible for support of Federal-Mogul Powertrain’s global Microsoft infrastructure. As a member of a globally distributed team hehe is respoible for the support of Microsoft operating systems and infrastructure applicatio as well as hardware, closely collaborating with other team membe in the US and Germany.
Major technologies supported by the team include Microsoft technologies like Active Directory, Office365, SCCM, Lynckype and various server operating systems. In addition, virtualization technologies like VMware and Citrix and backup technologies are supported by the team.
As the environment continues to change and develop with the addition of new technologies; this role is respoible for supporting all currently used technologies (including legacy) and all new technology moving forward.
Respoibilities:
?Respoible for providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 Windows server support
?Identifies and documents root cause analysis for incidents that result in a service disruption
?Maintai supported infrastructure applicatio following internal standards
?Supports and coordinates itallation of server, storage and backup technology including virtualization technologies
?Participates in projects to introduce new technologies, e.g. Microsoft Office365
?Develops and maintai procedures for equipment itallation and configuration support
?Coordinates sharing of best practices and policies and procedures
?Provides support in the area of systems inventory data, and client agent communication
?Provide data backup and restoration services in accordance to established policies euring data is protected effectively
?Support Disaster Recovery services across the region including return to normal operatio following resolution of a disaster event
?Coordinates all changes following the approved change control processes to eure changes to the infrastructure that may affect the service are managed effectively
?Engaged with the Client Service Desk to eure that all calls that can be resolved on fit call are being handled effectively
?Participates in on-call support to assist with troubleshooting, escalation, or recovery of failing equipment
Requirements:
?Experienced in managing 200+ Windows serve
?Exteive Microsoft operating system and network troubleshooting skills are essential
?Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems as well as Active Directory
?Working knowledge of Office365kype is a plus
?Working knowledge with VMWARE veion 5 or higher
?Working knowledge of hardware concepts
?Experience with Microsoft Exchange is desirable
?Demotrated ability to create technical documentation in English
?Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff and end-use
?Strong interpeonal skills
?Highly self-motivated and directed as well as creative
?Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative global environment
?Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload
?Strong inter-peonal skills, presentation and communication skills essential
?Being fluent in the English language is essential
Education & Experience:
?Bachelor or Master of science, preferably computer science
?4+ yea experience in a complex Microsoft network environment
?Microsoft server or infrastructure certification (e.g. MCITP Enterprise Administrator or similar) is a plus
