BASIC FUNCTION

Serve as the Lead Purchasing and Quality Supplier specialist for K & B Kohler France in

China. This includes managing all sourcing projects in support of Kohler France, as well as prioritizing and scheduling NPD project activities in Asia.

Complete Quality improvement efforts with current and potential supplie, and assure conformance to Kohler Co. policies.

This includes:

(1) Functioning as the Purchasing and Quality Specialist associate in China, collaborating with the French Purchasing team and developing the Kohler supply base in Asia.

(2) Ongoing supplier selection, development, and relatiohip management with Key supplie.

(3) Setting support priorities and scheduling assigned New Product Development projects, cost/re-sourcing initiatives, and Quality improvement efforts with current and potential supplie.

(4) Sourcing of potentials supplie, being a pro-active part in the detection and pre-selection.

(5) Drive supply base to lowest cost of total ownehip to Kohler.

(6) Management of on-going quality, delivery, and supply issues.

(7) Deploy expertise to other Asia regional Kohler Company entities that might benefit.

This position will focus on the support and development of Kohler France Sanijura, primarily in China. Can require greater than 50% travel in Asia; mostly China plus a yearly trip in France.

SPECIFIC RESPOIBILITIES

(1) Conduct detailed appraisal approval activities on behalf of Kohler France Purchasing and

Project Management teams, and make supplier selection recommendatio commeurate with business needs. Take ownehip for follow-up action required to raise supplier’s capability to required standard.

(2) Project management of specific sourcing initiatives in close cooperation with Kohler France French colleagues, including generation of project pla in line with overall project plan requirements, contribution of peonal expertise to facilitate delivery of the plan and follow through on action items to deliver results. Work with the Manager of Supplier Quality in cases where priorities conflict, are not clear, or resource issues arise.

(3) On specific projects, work closely with Kohler France New Product Development teams and supplie to facilitate the on-time/on-spec/on-cost launch of new products. Such activity would include confirmation of process capability studies, fit-article ipection and performance final test, and preparation of PPAP packages or on-going sampling and ipection regimes.

(4) Initiate and manage supplier process capability and cost improvement action pla to meet Quality, Delivery, Cost and Program Timing requirements.

(6) Expert in state of the art Supplier Quality tools and techniques, including lean practices.

(7) In the case of new or re-sourced product, or a process change or quality issue, maintain presence at supplier’s facility to audit both process and final product quality prior to shipment. This to be continued until capability is achieved.

(8) Conduct periodic on-site audits at supplie.

(9) Act as fit line of defee in region in the event of quality, cost or supply chain issues.

Move rapidly to contain problem, establish recovery plan and expedite corrective action.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Engineering degree required. Minimum six yea’ experience in technical purchasing projects, and quality assurance follow up, which involved close liaison with new product development. Must possess expert knowledge in negotiating, problem-solving, and statistical techniques.
