This role is ideal for candidates that are keen to develop a long-standing career as a fire assay chemist with an international firm. The post holder will be required to take respoibility for

1. Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the laboratory’s fire assay department and its equipment including gas-fired crucible furnaces and electric cupellation furnaces.

2.Experience of microbalance setup, calibration, ongoing QA checks and basic troubleshooting would be advantageous together with practical knowledge of silver and gold determination by AAS.

Qualificatio & requirements

1. A good bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or a related scientific discipline

2. An advanced undetanding of both classical fire assay and itrumental analytical techniques with a particular emphasis on the analysis of commercial base metal concentrate samples

3. Excellent interpeonal skills with a disposition to work in small teams

4. Good level of dexterity is required with the ability to work diligently, on time and to prescribed standards

5. Be able to support your team and management in method development and validation

6. Confident in coulting with colleagues and management when appropriate

7. Knowledge of Quality Control systems and ISO accreditation would be advantageous

8. CET-6: A high level of written and verbal English will be a necessary skill in communicatio with management
