POSITION TITLE: City and Wildlife Coervation Outreach Manager

LOCATION: Beijinghanghai

SUMMARY

The City and Wildlife Coervation Outreach Manager implements activities related to coervation awareness and education on local and global issues. A focus on ivory demand reduction and other wildlife products will be a key focus in partnehip with TNC Africa Region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIO

The City and Wildlife Coervation Outreach Manager desig and implements coervation awareness outreach on urban natural infrastructure and reducing the demand for illegal wildlife products. S/he works with city communities including schools, private sector, and NGOs to raise awareness and mobilize actio on bringing nature into cities, and protection and restoration of biodiveity in and around urban environment. Develop, support and/or coordinate city community’s coervation-related activities and provides field information to such target audiences. Works with related Chinese government entities and NGO community to create enabling conditio to ban ivory trade and coumption, among other wildlife species. S/he may review proposals, make grants to, and evaluate project results of partnering organizatio. S/he helps to raise funds for overall protection work and specific sites by providing input for proposal writing and solicitation as needed.

RESPOIBILITIES & SCOPE

1.Assists in helping urban populatio undetand the importance of natural infrastructure and human impact on wildlife and ecosystems

2.Works with related Chinese government agencies and NGO community to create enabling conditio to ban ivory trade and coumption, among other wildlife species.

3.Maintain and expand partnehip with key corporate partne such as Tencent and Alibaba, and raise public awareness on reduce wildlife coumption via social media and e-commerce platforms

4.Works with city communities including schools, private sector, and NGOs to organize awareness building activities and events on bringing nature into cities, and protection and restoration of clear water, clean air, and biodiveity in and around urban environment.

5.Review proposals, develop contracts and grant, and evaluate project results of partnering organizatio

6.S/he may help to raise funds for overall protection work and specific sites by providing input for proposal writing and solicitation as needed.

7.May supervise administrative and project staff and/or voluntee, inter or temporary staff.

8.Works in partnehip with other organizatio in a collaborative and advisory capacity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIO

1.BA/BS in law, business, natural resources management, international affai and development or related majo. 5 yea’ experience in natural resource management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2.Experience negotiating complex agreements.

3.Supervisory experience.

4.Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.

5.Experience using applicatio such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browse.

6.Experience with principles of land acquisition.

7.Experience in training and curriculum design.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

1.At least 4-6 yea’ experience in community development and/or coervation education, or equivalent.

2.Excellent communicatio skills including presenting to community leade, government officials, or related; and working in partnehip with other organizatio.

3.Proficient with Power point and Database management.

4.Experience in working with NGO partne, vendo, government agencies

5.Working knowledge of current trends in relevant discipline.

6.Familiarity with the political and cultural environment of target cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc.).

7.Outstanding writing skills and proficient in utilizing social media tools

8.Photography and video-making skills

9.Cross cultural communication experience

10.Supervisory experience.

11.Fluency in English and Chinese.
